Hopetoun House wedding video // Eva + Callum

Why are you getting a wedding film?:
We see a wedding film as being able to capture memories in a bubble! Not only capturing the little looks and smiles, but it really will allow us to relive the magic of the day - especially at Hopetoun, our favourite place!

Let us know a little about the sort of atmosphere/vibe you are planning for your big day.:
A real Scottish wedding, with natural vibes and elegance. We have picked a soft blush and mint colour theme with brown tweed-like kilts to give a slightly rustic element to the wedding too. We marry in the old stable block which is close to my heart as I horse ride 2minutes from Hopetoun and have done for over 20years. We want our day to feel romantic, special and filled with fun and happiness. We love our family and friends so the day is also for them too.

Eva + Callum you guys were incredible, so much fun working with you both, you put together the best team ever with us and Suzie!! And that light :o wish we could have that every wedding haha.

Fiona + Eoin // The Standing Stones Hotel, Orkney // LoveLock Teaser

LoveLock’s first venture outside of the UK mainland came along back in June when we were invited to capture Fiona and Eoin’s union on the beautiful island of Orkney. A dense fog gave the island an eerie air as our ferry approached its dramatic cliffside, before clearing overnight to make space for a day of beautiful sunshine. The St Magnus Cathedral was spectacularly decorated in poppies to commemorate WWI, and a large crowd of the island’s inhabitants and tourists stood to spectate as Fiona and Eoin stood hand in hand at the doorway of the magnificent building, smiling together and savouring their first moments of married life.

Fiona & Eoin: Thank you so much for inviting us to Orkney for your wedding- we had such a great experience and would rush to do it all over again. We’d like to wish you only the very best for your future together as man and wife, and send our love to Baxter the cat!

Natasha + Tom // Broxmouth Park, Dunbar // LoveLock Wedding Trailer

There are some weddings that the word “picturesque” just doesn’t do justice to- and this was certainly one of them. We were invited down to the Scottish borders to capture Natasha and Tom’s big day a little while back, and what a day it was! Cherry blossom swirled over the stone steps leading up to St Mary’s Parish church in Whitekirk as Tom excitedly awaited his bride, hands tucked behind his back. The day unfolded beautifully, with the sun coming out especially to dazzle the guests as they arrived at the drinks reception, held at the nearby Broxmouth Park. The band ignited in me a newfound love for ABBA before a surprise fireworks display illuminated the spectacular country house, and our evening had come to an end.

Natasha and Tom: We’d like to sincerely thank you for giving us the opportunity to share in your day, and we wish you both all the best for the future.

Stephanie + Murray // Monachyle Mhor, Lochearnhead // LoveLock Wedding Trailer

Stephanie and Murray’s wedding made for our first visit to the spectacular Monachyle Mhor in Perthshire, and what a day it was. What a pleasure to witness the intakes of breath and dropped jaws of their guests when they entered the barn, like they had just stepped into a fairytale. The miniature episode of snowfall allowed the skies to clear for a full day’s sunshine, and as the sun set over Lochearnhead, Murray carried Stephanie in his arms across the beach in a scene that would have been fitting on a porridge box.

Stephanie and Murray: thanks for being such a lovely couple to film, and for inviting us along to Monachyle Mhor- it was one we will never forget!

Meet Our Friends // Anne Marie McElroy Hair and Make Up Team

Recently we've been working alongside our good friend Anne Marie McElroy to create a short film, showcasing some of the beautiful work her bridal hair and makeup team have been doing. We love the way that she encourages her team to bring their own personality into their work, meaning that she can help her customers choose which of her team is best suited to them.  It makes for a pretty relaxing atmosphere- we were desperate to be pampered by the end of the day's filming!

Stacy + Greig // Busby Hotel, Clarkston

Sometimes when we’ve not had a chance to meet with our couples before the big day it can be hard to pick out the groom amongst his smartly dressed groomsmen on the morning of their wedding. Often the easiest way is to see who is wearing the biggest smile, and back in April there could be no mistake- Greig’s happiness just seemed to radiate from him. And when Stacy walked down the isle accompanied by her father, the reason for his joy was immediately clear.

Stacy & Greig: what a pleasure it was to watch your day unfold- thanks so much for letting us tell your story.

Gill + Craig // House for an Art Lover, Glasgow

February 26th this year marked a very special occasion for us at LoveLock Films, our first official wedding! The day was also of almost equal importance to our friends Gill and Craig as they were happily married at the Mackintosh-designed House for an Art Lover amongst a flurry of well-wishers. It truly was a stylish affair, and a fitting homage to the designer himself.

Gill and Craig: we’d like to give you a very special thanks for being such a great first official couple, and wish you only the very best for your future together as husband and wife.

Word from your homeboy

Hey folks, Matthew here! LoveLock's lead shooter / CineMate's editing workhorse. Neigh!!

I started my foray into filmmaking back in January 2014 after becoming increasingly frustrated by the lack of DSLR filmmakers in Glasgow's music scene- as a musician I was always on the look out for people to film my band, so I decided to take it upon myself. I started offering my services to local bands, and found myself becoming more and more interested with the technical aspects of cameras and cinematography. I volunteered myself to shoot my cousin's wedding (I had no idea what I was getting myself into) and found the work immensely demanding, but infinitely rewarding- I have never had to work so hard in my life!

I started to advertise my services online, picking up weddings and shooting them solo- I had no idea how deep I was throwing myself in, but don't regret a thing. I learned so many lessons from those first few jobs- quite possibly costing my heart irreparable stress-related damage! I was then picked up by an Asian wedding pro who taught me a lot, before landing an internship with CineMate back in summer 2014. I was hired to edit their raw wedding footage for 3 days a week, which turned out to be the best possible job for me to learn the trade- when I wasn't sifting through their footage and picking up their secrets, I was quizzing the two on their seemingly infinite amounts of filmmaking knowledge!

So here we are; two and a half years and who-the-hell-knows however many weddings later- 2016 wedding season: we're coming after you!!

CineMate Films

Matthew joined us at CineMate as an intern in July 2014 to assist on wedding shoots and help out with the editing in the studio. Since then he has been out shooting with us and on his own, here is a few weddings that he helped us film. We've been mentoring him and teaching him everything we know, he's picked our brains for over a year and a half so its now time to give him his own little baby to nurture and grow giving more brides the wedding film they deserve (no cheesy crapy videos here!).

These next two Matthew shot with just one of us as either Simon or I were guests at the weddings so were busy getting drunk and dancing!

Hopefully these videos give you an idea of the sort of style LoveLock will be striving for and show's you that we (with extremely high standards) trust Matthew to get the best shots possible.

Matthews currently partying at a big house all next week for his Birthday celebrations so when he gets back after that I'll get him to write a blog about his time at CineMate so far and what he's looking forward to with LoveLock in the future!

Gregg
Lock in those precious memories!
